Intersections with a 180° transfer unit

PCA

The PCA workstation is required to return workpiece carriers (WT) from a type-C workstation to the main belt. At the end of the workstation branch, the workpiece carrier travels against the inside stop (AI), which brings it into position above the 180° transfer unit. The transfer unit is then raised by pneumatics and transports the workpiece carrier in the direction of the main belt until it reaches the outside stop (AA). Once the workpiece carrier arrives in the final position, the transfer unit is lowered and the workpiece carrier is placed onto the drive belt of the main section, where it continues along the conveyor path.

PCE

A PCE workstation is required on subsidiary branches of type-C workstations. In situations where workpiece carriers have to be transferred onto a parallel workstation branch, they are first brought to a halt by an inlet stopper (ES). The U180° transfer unit is then raised by pneumatics and transports the workpiece carrier against the outside stop (AA) of the workstation branch. The transfer unit is then lowered and releases the workpiece carrier on the workstation branch.

PCEA

The PCEA workstation is required to transport workpiece carriers (WT) away from a type-C workstation. Unlike the PCA workstation, however, workpiece carriers are transferred onto a second main belt positioned at 90° to the other main belt. Workpiece carriers travelling along both the transverse section and the main belt make contact with a sensor holder (SEA) at the end of the conveyor. This positions the workpiece carriers above the U180° transfer unit. Once the transfer unit has been raised by pneumatics, the workpiece carrier on it can be transported onto the perpendicular main belt. Workstation stoppers on the transverse section and main belt ensure that only one workpiece carrier travels onto the transfer unit at a time.

PCEE

The PCEE workstation is also used on subsidiary branches of type-C workstations. However, it allows not just one but two transfer operations. If workpiece carriers have to be transferred onto the main belt, a transverse belt stop (SEAE) is used here. This unit consists of two stoppers that are driven in parallel. If the stop latches of the transverse belt stop are engaged, the workpiece carrier is brought to a halt above the U180° transfer unit before being lowered onto the main belt. If the stop latches of the transverse belt stop (SEAE) are disengaged, the workpiece carrier travels to the end of the transfer unit against the outside stop (AA). After being lowered here, the workpiece carrier continues along the transverse section.
